About the Artist - Pippa Moore

Pippa is an artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. She specialises in landscapes and portraits in oils and loves the challenge of a commission.

Pippa first studied art at school and continued at university, exploring all basic elements of painting and the history of this art form. After completing her degree, she travelled and lived in Europe and the greater part of the UK. During this time she was exposed to many different landscapes, depicting the life and culture of a number of different peoples. But they were not African, where she knew her inspiration for true creativity lay.

On returning to South Africa, Pippa settled in Cape Town. It is here that she set up her art studio and mainly concentrates on painting landscapes of South African scenes. "The magnificent colours that make up our diverse and interesting culture are so evident; it is a wonderful experience to record them on canvas." Her constant form of inspiration is a saying on the wall of one of her art teacher's studio: Art, soul, God, magic
